SGL Dairy is used only for accomplishing short calving intervals; it is not effective or authorised for breeding replacement heifers. SGL Dairy is a team of bulls with a gestation length up to -20 days. When mated to a cow with normal gestation length, these bulls can reward you with a calving interval up to 10 days shorter than normal – that’s 10 days extra milk in your vat and 10 days extra profit in your pocket.
LIC, in alliance with leading Hereford breeders, Shrimpton’s Hill Herefords, have developed easy-calving and easily identifiable Hereford sires that reduce gestation length by an average of 3 days. This means you have more valuable calves to offer the beef industry and you save valuable time identifying calves.
SGL + BW
Presenting genetics for shorter gestation as well as sound genetic merit for heifer calf replacements, SGL + BW bulls are a win-win. These SGL sires have been rigorously tested to ensure their traits are passed on to their offspring, with the purpose of improving the overall efficiency of your herd.
