Animal Evaluation
Not only does New Zealand lead the world in efficient milk production; it also leads the world with its Animal Evaluation (AE) model. Using state of the art animal model procedures it enables farmers to identify which cows and bulls are the most efficient and profitable regardless of age, breed and liveweight.
Most other evaluation systems worldwide rank animals on their potential for income only. New Zealand was, until recently, the only country to take account of the cost of milk production and thereby accurately assess the true profitability of its animals. The USA and Australia have recently followed our lead in this key area.
