International Artificial Insemination Certificate
Livestock Improvement Corporation Limited (LIC) is a New Zealand farmer-owned co-operative that provides services to the majority of dairy farmers in New Zealand. LIC’s Artificial Insemination (AI) team has been in existence and part of this for over 50 years.
A one week AI training programme is now available for international participants. The training will be held in New Zealand locations under controlled conditions. Those who achieve and pass the special week-long programme will be awarded a certificate from LIC.
The program for the LIC International Artificial Insemination Level 1 Certificate is best suited to new or existing AI technicians who would normally undertake no more than 50 inseminations per day.
The course will include both theory and practical training with the practical being completed on the specialised LIC Artificial Cow along with extensive hands on training with real cows in compliance with New Zealand animal ethics standards.
Course content will include details on artificial insemination along with some aspects about heat detection and cow body condition requirements (based on standards in New Zealand) to assist in a successful AI pregnancy.
The programme will be available from 10 March 2018. The course will be a total of 9 days in length including two travel days which will commence on a Saturday and finish the following Sunday.
Special Course Conditions apply. Email the LIC International AI Training Team firstname.lastname@example.org for full details.
